I am a professor of foreign language teaching methodology at the University of Strasbourg. Much of my research focuses on the teaching and learning context of foreign languages in the Franco-German border region, primarily from a sociolinguistic and didactic perspective.
I am particularly interested in the perceptions of teachers and learners of a foreign language in specific contexts, especially in relation to ‘cultural’ teaching content. I also conduct research on the concept of Global/European Citizenship Education within the field of foreign language teaching. All these aspects are brought together in the ‘All-Tra-Co’ project, which I am carrying out as part of my secondment to the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF).

With a background in foreign languages and graphic design, I am passionate about intercultural exchange and the ideas we build, deconstruct and reconstruct together. I approach graphic facilitation as a collaborative process: the most effective visuals emerge from a shared reflection between subject matter experts and the visualisation of their ideas. I see myself as an interpreter, translating from language… into images.
